David Abbott, President/Owner

David Abbott has been with Heston Insurance Agency since 1981.  He graduated from Indiana University with a double majour of Economics and History. Davids's primary focus has been to work with businesses to protect their assets and provide security against unexpected incidents. In addition he has overall management responsibilities of the agency.

David enjoys community activities through serving on the boards of Evansville Christian School, YMCA and involvement in his church. He is also a board member of University of Southern Indiana’s School of Business and a board member of Vanderburgh county redevelopment commission.

 David and his wife Kathy have three children and four grandchildren.  David’s interests include golf, scuba diving and reading (non-fiction).  

Diana Engelbrecht, Commercial Lines Agent

Diana joined the Heston Agency in 1986. She works in the commercial lines department assisting large and small commercial customers with their insurance needs.  She strives to provide great customer service. 

Diana is a licensed property and casualty agent, Indiana Accredited Customer Service Representative (IACSR) and Certified Professional Insurance Woman (CPIW). 

 Diana and her husband have three wonderful children. Diana loves spending time with her family and friends.

Patty Sorensen, Commercial Lines Agent

Patty has worked in the insurance field for the past 20 years. A graduate of Central High School, she is a lifelong resident of Evansville.

Patty started with Heston in 2007. She is licensed in Property & Casualty and Life & Health Insurance. She is dedicated to helping customers meet all their insurance needs.

Patty and her husband Phil have 2 children and live in Darmstadt with their faithful dog, Sasha. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, and is an avid sports fan.

Ann Flynn, Manager of Personal Lines

Ann grew up in Dubuque Iowa where she met her husband of 32 years.  She moved to the Evansville area in 1994 when her husband was transferred to Evansville.  She joined the Heston Agency in 1995 and is currently the Personal Lines Manager.  

Ann enjoys working with people and has a strong background in sales and service.  Her goal is to not only meet her customer’s protection needs but to build relationships with her customers that will allow her to anticipate and exceed their expectations. 

Ann resides in Newburgh with her husband.  She enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with her family.

Debra Bivens, Personal Lines Agent

Debra has always enjoyed working in the business and customer service sectors.  After graduating with an associate’s degree from Lockyear College, she began working in customer service, administrative assistant and purchasing positions. 

When she became an insurance agent, Debra appreciated the fact that she would again be in the position to assist customers with any insurance needs that they might have.

Debra and her husband, Jeff, have been married 25 years and enjoy traveling to different destinations in this country and abroad.  They live in Evansville along with their mischievous cat, Cleo.  

Andrea Shemwell, Personal Lines Agent

Andrea grew up in Western Kentucky and graduated from Murray State University in 1994 with a BS. She started as a personal lines agent at Heston in 2010.

Andrea’s career experience includes a strong background in sales and service. She is licensed in Auto, Home, Life and Health. Helping her clients understand and meet their individual protection needs is her number one goal as an insurance agent.

Andrea has participated in mentoring programs for at risk children in the community and attends Crossroads Christian Church.  Her hobbies include golf and attending various sporting events.  Spending time with her family is a top priority in her life.

Whitney Saint, Personal Lines Agent

Whitney has been with Heston Insurance Agency since 2010 where she started as an administrative assistant and moved on to become a personal lines agent. Her main goal is to provide customers with quality insurance and service at a competitive price. She also works to tailor insurance to fit her customer’s current needs.

Whitney is a member of The Evansville Rotaract Club and Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Network. She also is a member of Big Brothers Big Sisters, a member and volunteer at Crossroads Christian Church, and a volunteer in the Evansville Youth First Program.

Whitney was raised in Kentucky but now resides in Newburgh. Her interests include spending time with family and friends, giving back, singing, sports and watching UK basketball.

Jeff Stoll, Financial Services Agent

Jeff graduated from Murray State University with a BS in Accounting. Jeff entered the insurance and investment business in 1985 with John Hancock Financial Services. In 1993, he began working with the Heston Insurance Agency. Jeff works with individuals and business owners in the areas of health insurance, life insurance and retirement plan investments. He emphasizes reducing the cost of insurance and maximizing retirement plan investment contributions.

Jeff is involved in Southwestern Indiana Association of Insurance and Investment Advisors, Green River Kiwanis Club and Crossroads Christian Church. 

Jeff lives in Newburgh with his wife Michelle and four kids.  Jeff & Michelle both enjoy mountain biking, tennis, camping and hiking. 

Natasha Kempf, Administrative Assistant

Natasha was born and raised in Evansville, Indiana. She graduated from North High School in 2005 & then from Ivy Tech Community College in the fall of 2009 with an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration.

Natasha worked in the childcare business for 5 years and is now an Administrative Assistant at the agency. She provides assistance to the personal, commercial and financial departments.

Natasha’s interests include boating, swimming, riding the 4 wheeler, and reading.

Ruth Willis, Bookkeeper

Ruth was born and raised in Evansville.  She has worked in the Accounting/Human Resource "back office" area of the Heston Agency since September, 1980.  In 1997 Ruth was awarded "Insurance Woman of the Year," an award bestowed upon her by her peers within the Insurance Women of Evansville.

 Ruth and her husband, Dave, have a blended family of five daughters and eight grandchildren.  She is very involved in her church, where is sings in the choir, and in the past has held various board positions, as well as church treasurer.  She is also active in the Ecumenical Cursillo, member of Altrusa International, Eastern Star, and last but not least, her grandchildren's activities. 

Ruth is definitely an IU fan. She loves gardening, music, and has a real interest in political science.

Joan Hoge, Receptionist

Joan has been Heston Insurance Agency’s receptionist for over 17 years. She is the warm smiling face Heston’s customers see when they walk in the door. Joan enjoys getting to know the customers and making sure their needs are met.

Joan was born and raised in Evansville. She graduated from Bosse High School and is an active member of Boeke Road Baptist Church.

Joan lives in Evansville with her husband of 43 years. They have 3 children and 6 fabulous grandchildren. Joan enjoys spending time with her wonderful family and friends.
